Important Note: This course will no longer be available from the 01st January 2020.  A change in industry standards require delegates to attend a yearly MATS Tower Climbing & Rescue Refresher Course - See associated courses.

The Tower  / Structural Rescue course is designed for existing climbers who wish to renew their rescue certification. Delegates can renew their Advanced Climber certificate for an additional fee

Delegates are continually assessed on the essential elements of the Rescue course, including updates on legislation and codes of practice, observed mock work situation, use of all PPE and practice of live rescue in descent.  courses are held at our dedicated centre in Daventry, Northants.

The course meets the Mast and Towers Safety Group (MATS) course requirements.

Evidence of previous competence / training will be required prior to attending. Delegates must have a valid & in-date climber certificate or equivalent to attend this course.

Delegates must be aged over 18, be able to certify that they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them working at height, & fluent in English.

Successful completion of this course will be accepted on the Arqiva Gateway (Site Access) system

MATS Approved Training Provider (quality assured by EUSR) 

The Mast & Towers Safety Group (MATS) stipulate that all technicians must be registered on the new Energy & Utility Skills Registry System - Quartzweb – to gain access to and work on , CTIL, EE, Vodafone, Telefonica, BT, Network Rail & other MATs group member sites under the accreditation scheme. Course costs include EUS registration fee and EUS ID Card.

The Tower Climber & Rescue (Renewal) is a refresher course for those who have completed a climbing course and gained experience in the last 12 months and wishing to revalidate their certificate. Its purpose is to evaluate the knowledge & understanding of individuals on safe working practices for working on radio towers / structures and conduct the rescue of incapacitated or injured climber(s) Tower Climber courses are held at our dedicated centre in Daventry, Northants.

Delegates must be able to speak English and must have obtained their MATS Tower Climb and Rescue Initial Validation (3 day) or MATS Advanced Climber course. They must be physically fit / able to work at height and free from any medical condition that could prevent them from climbing. They will be required to complete a medical declaration.
