The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) provides the training, assessment and certification to become a qualified first aider if your assessment shows the need for a first aider in the work place. Alongside meeting these requirements, you will also be equipped with the knowledge and skills to administer a wide variety of first aid techniques in the workplace with confidence – from treating minor wounds to saving the lives of colleagues in life-threatening situations.

The course is HSE recommended and complies with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations and the approved code of practice L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace first aiders.

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) course is designed to offer essential basic skills and knowledge required to administer emergency first aid at work until someone more qualified is available to take charge of the situation. The course is ideal for small businesses where health & safety risks are minimal or for persons expected to complement the skills of a qualified first-aider. This regulated first aid qualification provides theoretical and practical training in first aid techniques that are specific to infants aged under 1, and children aged from 1-year-old to the onset of puberty. Learners will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation, such as a child or an infant who is unresponsive, has an airway obstruction, has breathing difficulties or is suffering from shock or anaphylaxis

It fulfills the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as issued by the department for Education and Skills Foundation Stage relating to Early Years childcare. The Statutory Framework states that ‘at least one person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises at all times when children are present. There must be at least one person on outings who has a current paediatric first aid certificate.’

The course is suitable for school staff, childcare providers, childminders in schools, nursery schools, pre-schools and staff involved in childminding

This Level 3 qualification is an extended version of the Emergency Paediatric First Aid.
