Rope Access Technician (Experienced)
This course is for those who have specific trade skills but wish to use rope access as a method of gaining access to and work in difficult locations. The term rope access if often used to describe access to location of work using descending and ascending equipment on ropes. Sage Safety and Training has identified that other organisations spend a lot of training time on teaching delegates to ascend ropes. This technique is often not required as the work only requires a descent. This course has been developed to BS 7985:2000 and provides all the required skills for rope access operations on structures of any form. Please note - this course is for experienced climbers only. If you do not hold a current certificate in rope access training then the three day novice course must be undertaken.
Basic Principles of Communication Systems - C&Gs 3666-01 (Core Unit)
This course is the core unit of the 3666 award. It will provide you with an understanding of communications principles and how they are applied in modern communications systems. This course is ideal or those who are thinking of entering the field of communications as their next career.
Fibre Optic Cabling in External Environments (Single-Mode) - C&Gs 3666-03
This City & Guilds accredited course will provide the delegate with the knowledge and skills that you need to install, joint, terminate and test fibre optic cabling for applications including LANS’s. Video, CCTV and datacomms. This course focuses on the components, equipment and working practices that are typically used for telecoms systems in long distances networks where most of the key tasks have to be performed on cabling that is mainly in an external (outside plant) environment. Successful completion of this course can only enhance potential employment prospects with any of the Telecomm Installation companies.
Data Communications Cabling Installation & Testing - C&G 3666-04
This intensive City & Guilds accredited course will provide the knowledge and skills that you need to install, terminate and test copper cabling for datacomms networks including Cat 5E and Cat 6. This course focuses on the tools, components and working practices that are typically used for local area networks to support data, voice and video. Most of the key tasks have to be performed on cabling that is mainly in an internal (indoor) environment. The knowledge and skills acquired can also be applied to copper cabling used for home networks and industrial networks as well as office and commercial environments
Telecomms Connector Training
Manufacturers of equipment often offer connector training. These courses will only instruct on the connectors that they supply. Installation of telecommunications equipment often requires that connectors from various manufacturers are used on site. This could lead to companies paying for delegates to attend courses from each of the suppliers. As Sage Safety & Training do not manufacture equipment we are able to offer a course that will instruct in the connectors that are used by the customers installation engineers, regardless of who manufacturers them. Connectors included on the course are Soldered & Crimped Coaxial, Andrews & RFS.

This course is designed for those who wishing to enter the mobile telecommunications industry or to those already employed who want to further their knowledge and understanding of how networks function.
